Our Mission

Katabatic Consulting recognizes the need for specialized medical equipment in remote locations is a growing trend.  Researchers and industry, as well as outdoor adventurers, are traveling farther away from definitive medical care facilities while in search of their goals.  Each of these groups prepares for the worst-case scenarios, and the equipment that was going to the ends of the earth was not intended for that use.  What may work in the back of an ambulance would not work on an oilrig in the ocean.  What is standard of care in an emergency room is not standard of care on the eastern plateau of Antarctica.  We strive to create a safe and effective medical system for those special environments.

Katabatic Consulting is a special environment medical consulting company.  It was created to help facilitate the upgrade and integration of medical equipment and logistics for companies with special environmental considerations.  We consider special environments to be any setting that does not function in conjunction with the controlled environment of a medical clinic or hospital.

Katabatic Consulting takes several approaches in developing a standard of care recommendation for special environmental operations.  We will review a system that is already in place and make recommendations to upgrade and integrate equipment and logistics into the current system.  We strive to incorporate our recommendations with the system that is currently in place.  Another approach is to start from the ground up.  We review the needs and requirements of an operation and develop a recommendation package to cover all medical needs.

Katabatic Consulting recommends the equipment and logistics that will be used to provide medical care in the specific special environmental setting.  We will assist companies in establishing a standard of care for specific settings.  We use our experiences as well as those of other medical and technical experts to complete an effective medical package for our clients.

Katabatic Consulting seeks out the most effective medical products currently on the market.  We are not a wholesale or retail operation.  We personally spec the equipment and have hands on experience with most of the products we recommend to ensure top quality and functionality for the special environments it will be used in.
